Work now underway on latest project, with completion expected by 2018.
On the morning of June 26 a breaking ground ceremony was held for Package CP1A, a major infrastructure work at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi.
Package CP1A is the largest in value and scope among the five packages within the Japanese official development assistance (ODA) program for the Park.
The Prime Minister was in attendance and addressed the gathering, noting it was a major project of great importance and played a key role in creating the favorable conditions needed for the Park.
The package is to be completed by 2018, covering major infrastructure such as roads, water supply systems, drainage pipelines, power supply, and telecommunication systems.
The project has total capital of $450 million, of which $400 million comes from Japanese ODA and $50 million in Vietnamese reciprocal capital.
Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park opened in 2008 and almost 40 projects has been licensed to date, with VND60 trillion ($2.75 billion) in registered capital.
Some 10,000 people work and study at the Park.
In 2014 the Hoa Park recorded export turnover of around $130 million.
