Ministries of Transport and Planning and Investment to propose investment sources for new road, which passes through six cities and provinces.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a plan to build a new coastal road through Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, and Quang Ninh provinces and Hai Phong city in the north of the country.
The PM requested People’s Committees in the cities and provinces cooperate with the Ministry of Transport (MoT) and related departments in preparing construction plans. Plans must comply with Decision No. 129/2010 from the PM on detailed planning for coastal roads and also with the provisions of the law on the management of construction projects.
He also asked MoT to cooperate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to propose sources of investment capital and then report back to him for consideration.
Under Decision No. 129, approval of the detailed planning comes from the six cities and provinces, with most investments to be made prior to 2020, with the exception of certain sections in Thai Binh and Nam Dinh provinces, which will be invested after 2020.
