Most of the NA delegates agreed on the Resolution of the diplomatic note approval on one-year visa issuance between the two countries.
One-year visas now more readily available for citizens of both countries.
The National Assembly (NA) approved the granting of one-year visas to US citizens at the NA meeting on April 9.
One-year multiple visas will be granted to US citizens instead of three-month, non-extendable visas, for travel, attending seminars and meetings, personal reasons or working with agencies, organizations and enterprises in Vietnam. Vietnamese citizens will also now be able to apply for one-year visas to the US for the same purposes.
Most NA delegates agreed with the proposal as it is suitable for existing circumstances and will benefit Vietnamese citizens.
The NA’s Standing Committee said the change will contribute to enhancing the economic, trade and investment relationship, in line with the deeper partnership in all fields between Vietnam and the US.
