US President Barack Obama to pay first-ever visit to Vietnam.
US President Barack Obama will pay an official visit to Vietnam from May 22 to 25 at the invitation of Vietnamese leaders.
He will hold official meetings with leaders to discuss ways for the US-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership to advance bilateral cooperation across a wide range of fields, including economics, people-to-people exchanges, security, and human rights, as well in regional and global issues.
In Hanoi he will deliver a speech on US-Vietnam relations.
During meetings and events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City the President will also discuss the importance of approving the TPP this year.
He will also meet with members of civil society, representatives from the Young Southeast Asian Leadership Initiative, and entrepreneurs and the business community.
