Delays and cancellations inconvenience thousands of passengers during holiday period.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has reported to the Ministry of Transport on the activities of airlines during the Tet holiday from February 15 to 22.
In the eight days of Lunar New Year the four domestic airlines (including VASCO) operated 4,203 flights. Of these, 928 flights were delayed, accounting for 22.1 per cent. Vietnam Airlines did not provide any information on delays and cancelations for February 21 and 22.
Vietnam Airlines had the highest rate of delayed flights, with 23.8 per cent, while VASCO had the lowest. The main reason was the late arrival of aircraft, at 15 per cent.

A total of 1.35 million international and domestic passengers passed through Vietnam's airports, an increase of 24 per cent compared to Tet last year. Of these, domestic airlines carried nearly 655,000 passengers, up 28 per cent. Vietjet Air recorded the strongest growth, with 74 per cent.
