Slot machines to be located in isolated areas of airports for the sole use of foreigners.
The Office of the Government has released a decision from Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on gaming being made available to passengers exiting or transiting at Vietnam’s international airports.
The PM agreed to slot machines being located in isolated areas of airports. He also assigned the Ministry of Transport to strengthen leadership to develop and improve the quality of services at airports to meet the increasing requirements of passengers.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) will collect comments from Deputy Prime Ministers and leaders of ministries for inclusion in a draft decree amending Decree No. 86/2013/ND-CP from the government in July 2013 on gaming for foreigners. Recent figures from MoF showed that the country has 43 establishments with slot machines and eight casinos.
