PM approves public sector recruitment

A total of 277,055 new public servants will be recruited by State agencies in 2015.

The number of new regular public servants paid from the State budget at State administrative agencies and regular staff at special associations operating nationwide in 2015 have been approved by the Prime Minister. The total number of new regular public servants paid from the State budget at State administrative agencies and organizations and representative offices of Vietnam abroad, excluding those working for the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defense, public non-productive units, and commune-level agencies, will stand at 277,055.

Specifically, the number of new regular public workers at State administrative agencies and organizations in 2015 will be 276,055, of which 112,266 are allocated to administrative agencies and organizations under ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and agencies under the government, organizations established by the government and the PM, but not public non-productive units.

Provincial and district people’s committees and council bodies will have a limit of 162,704 new regular staff and representative offices of Vietnam overseas will have 1,085. There will also be 1,000 stand-by public workers. According to the decision, as many as 686 employees will be recruited to special associations around the country.

The Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Home Affairs to work with other ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the government, organizations established by the government and the PM but not public non-productive units, provinces and centrally-run cities, and special associations around the country to coordinate the limits, while retaining their total number of existing staff.
