Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded Siemens AG’s cooperation with Vietnam in various fields during his reception in Hanoi on May 24 for Mr. Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of the German group, the Vietnam News Agency reports.

The PM hoped Siemens would increase its comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam in services, production, and investment, as well as in areas where Vietnam earns high export turnover, so that Siemens’ initiatives in the fourth industrial revolution can be transferred to the country.

Referring to Vietnam’s advantages, such as being a gateway to the ASEAN market and its engagement in 12 free trade agreements with major partners around the world, PM Phuc said that Siemens AG can access a broad market via the country.

Mr. Kaeser said he has held several meetings with Vietnamese partners, during which they discussed the possibility of transport infrastructure development, such as the construction of airports and expressways.

Transport infrastructure development is a prerequisite for industrialization and modernization, he added.

After meeting with PM Phuc in Davos, Switzerland, earlier this year, Mr. Kaeser expressed a wish for continued cooperation in order to boost the development of the fourth industrial revolution in Vietnam.

Siemens is willing, he said, to assist in human resources training and promoting cooperation with Vietnam in fields such as energy and information technology.
