Meeting at end of month in HCMC to identify plans for enterprises' development over next five years.
A meeting between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the business community is expected to be held at the end of April in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the national program to develop enterprises.
Proposed by the Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the meeting aims to implement resolutions from National Party Congress XII and the Decree on socioeconomic development in the 2016-2020 period from National Assembly XIII.
The Prime Minister has agreed to VCCI, the Office of the Government, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) working together to organize the meeting.
With a determined focus on developing enterprises, the meeting will concentrate on the existing situation facing enterprises and identify solutions to bolster their development not only in 2016 but also in the 2016-2020 period.
Opinions from enterprises will be welcomed when sent to the government via VCCI, the Prime Minister said.
For the first time in Vietnam’s history the private sector has been officially recognized as an important factor in economic development. “The private economy is an important economic driver,” documents from National Party Congress XII state. “Mechanisms and policies are needed to develop the private sector dramatically, to stimulate the economy.”
