The National Assembly agreed to relieve Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung of Prime Minister with a ballot to select his replacement being held on April 7.
Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Tan Dung was relieved from his position on the afternoon of April 6 with 418 affirmative votes (84 percent) and 68 votes against during this eleventh and final session of NA XIII.
“During his tenure as Prime Minister, Mr. Dung has accomplished any task assigned to him,” said State President Tran Dai Quang.
This afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, a Member of the Politburo, was nominated by State President Tran Dai Quang for NA's consideration for the position of PM.
A secret ballot with the vote for the new PM is scheduled for April 7.
