Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang held a meeting on July 13 in Hanoi with the special advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Mr. Tsutomu Takebe.

In the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Hiroshi Fukada, Mr. Takebe congratulated the minister on his appointment as Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association. He hoped Mr. Thang would promote the friendly relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Takebe also spoke with the minister about a number of issues relating to transport infrastructure for the Vietnam-Japan University at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi. “Transportation infrastructure is crucial issue in the process of implementing the project,” he said, suggesting bus links be developed to serve the university.

The Ministry of Transport has directed related agencies and departments to prepare and build transport links to create favorable conditions for the University’s development. Minister Thang also agreed with Mr. Takebe’s proposals on the development of bus links.

The Vietnam-Japan University held a breaking ground ceremony on December 20, 2014. “The University will contribute significantly to the development of high quality human resources, strengthen cooperation in education and technology and boost the friendship between Vietnam and Japan,” Minister Thang said.
