MoU the basis of exchanges on judicial matters between the two countries.
Supreme Court Chief Judge Truong Hoa Binh and the Vice President of the Austrian Supreme Court of Justice, Elisabeth Lovrek, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral judicial co-operation between the two countries.
Under the MoU the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in judicial information, training of judges, and comparative studies related to judicial reform.
Mr. Binh, who is leading a delegation of high-ranking court officials on an official visit to Austria from July 8-11, said that the signing of the MoU provides the legal basis for exchange of delegations, information on judicial reform, legal development, and the operations of the court on both sides.
During the visit the delegation also held a working session with Mr. Yuri Fedotov, the United Nations’ Under General Secretary and Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
Mr. Fedotov affirmed the efforts of Vietnam in cooperating with UNODC and committed to continuing to support Vietnam in its fight against drug trafficking and organized crime.
