Vietnam & Germany sign nursing training agreement

Agreement over selection criteria for elderly-care nursing training in Germany.

by Minh Tien

The German Ambassador in Vietnam, H.E. Jutta Frasch, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, has signed a joint letter of intent on the basic principles of selection requirements and procedures when recruiting Vietnamese workers for an elderly-care nursing training program in Germany, with Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thanh Hoa.

The signing is regarded by both sides as being a platform for future cooperation in human resources training and education. Those who qualify after passing extremely strict criteria will then enjoy support from training centers for visa applications and scholarships that may cover part of their living costs in the country.

Germany currently has substantial demand for elderly-care nurses due to its aging population, with domestic human resources being insufficient.
