Vietnamese & Israeli enterprises sign agreements

Cooperative agreements signed by enterprises during visit to Vietnam by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

A signing ceremony between four Vietnamese enterprises and their Israeli partners took place on March 21 at the Sofitel Metropole Hotel in Hanoi during the official visit to Vietnam by Israeli President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin.

The Israeli President and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vu Hong Nam were in attendance.

Mr. Aviad Freidman, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Israeli Association of Community Development Centers (IACC) and Ms. Do Thuy Duong, Chairman of Talent Convergence JSC (TalentPool), represented their organizations at the signing ceremony.

The cooperation project between TalentPool, IACC, and the Public Benefit Corporation will develop a network of community learning support centers initiated by TalentPool to develop community knowledge with the desire to awaken potential, commitment, pioneering and voluntary spirit in each Vietnamese person about sharing with the community and contributing to the development of the country.

With 50 years of experience in community education and development, with 750 centers having trained 8.5 million people, IACC has demonstrated the success of connecting governments, businesses and civil society organizations to bring benefits to residents.

On that basis, IACC will transfer management, connection and training technology to help TalentPool realize its desire to connect the community and share knowledge.

Earlier, during his meeting with the Israel President on March 20, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged  to increase two-way trade to $3 billion in the years to come from the current level of $1.3 billion via facilitating the entry of key products in the respective markets, while President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin expressed his support for the collaboration between the two countries’ businesses and suggested the two sides push negotiations to reach the signing of a bilateral free trade agreement in the time ahead.

A Vietnam – Israel defence industry forum was also held in Hanoi on March 21 by the Vietnamese Defence Ministry’s General Department of Defence Industry and Israel’s International Defence Cooperation Division, with the attendance of President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin and Vietnam’s Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich.

At the event, the two sides informed each other about their respective countries’ defence industry development and reviewed the outcomes of cooperation between their defence businesses.

President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin is on a State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of State President Tran Dai Quang. A delegation of 48 business people from 27 Israeli companies is accompanying him on the visit, including founders and executives from leading Israeli enterprises in six sectors: agriculture, cyber security, water solutions, education, energy, and healthcare.

In the framework of the visit, a part from the Vietnam - Israel Business Forum held in Hanoi on March 21 and in Ho Chi Minh City on March 23,  professional seminars, business-to-business meetings, and site visits will also be organized.
